Summer Shore Corps is our most popular teen program, providing experience for high school students to collaborate with local businesses and partner organizations to develop their team-building skills.
Students in 9th-12th grade, who live in or attend school in and around the Rockaway Peninsula, are eligible to apply. Students will work on projects with professionals in fields of environmental science, civic engagement, healthy food systems and community planning to gain a better appreciation of the natural resources of the Rockaway Peninsula. Students will also take part in water safety and CPR training as well as surfing, kayaking and biking throughout the summer.
Summer Shore Corps is a paid internship and all students accepted to the program will receive up to $900 stipend for participation in the program.
This summer, the Summer Shore Corps Program will be entirely inperson. All students will be required to show either proof of COVID19 vaccination & booster OR a negative COVID test every two weeks.
Dates: July 5th - August 19th, 2022
Location: RISE Center, 58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd, Rockaway, NY
Class Days/Times: Mon-Fri, 10AM-3PM
Students interested in being considered for Summer Shore Corps must complete an application by June 1st to be considered. All applicants are required to attend an in-person group interview and will be notified of the interview details after applying.
